Halloween

It was fun to get ready for Halloween this year because Austin knew exactly what he wanted to be. He has never seen any of the movies he has just played the Lego game with his dad but he had to be Indiana Jones and I might add that he was a very cute one too. He just loved his whip that made the whip noise with the Indiana Jones song. I have to admit I got sick of it quickly; man the sacrifices we have to make for our kids. :) The girls were very cute butterflies. Brooklynn just loved pretending to fly around in her costume and not smile at the camera but pulling funny faces instead. Ashlynn was a little unsure of why we would dress her up like this and was quite mad about her hood but after a few minutes she forgot and just crawled around. All the kids just loved to knock on doors and get candy and they loved to eat it too!

Pumpkin Hunting & Carving

We went to pack’s pumpkin patch to find pumpkins the day after we got back from our vacation. On the drive over the kids kept asking how long it was going to take to get there and if they should go to sleep. It is funny how a long trip can make them think twice about going anywhere. :) The kids loved picking their own pumpkin and running through the maze. Ashlynn thought riding in the cart was great as long as her siblings kept on pulling her.

We went up to my parents to carve pumpkins. It was a lot of fun. I was amazed at how well Austin did carving his own pumpkin he wouldn’t let anyone help him and he did it all on his own. Brooklynn was more into watching everyone and poking her pumpkin then carving it. Ashlynn just loved to play with the seeds and the insides of the pumpkins and throw her small pumpkin around. My other two kids never did this. It was fun to watch her go nuts touching the stuff.

Disneyland

Disneyland was amazing. It was so fun to watch the kids' excitement every time we met a character or went on a fun ride. We spent a lot of time in Toon Town and Fantasy Land. While we were in Toon Town we got to meet mickey mouse & minnie mouse and see their houses. In Fantasy Land we went to the Princess Show and while we were getting ready to go down and make our princess and prince crowns they gave us a special meeting ticket to meet Cinderella. It was a fun little extra thing that was unexpected. I had my dreams come true and I got to ride on Dumbo with my kids. It was top on the list and it made the whole trip worth it. That night we stayed for the fireworks and Austin got a glowing lightsaber with mickey on it.
Disneyland really is magical!

Austin Lost his First Tooth

As we waited for the crowd to die down after the parade was over Austin decided to play with his loose tooth that he has had for over a week and low and behold out it came right there in California Adventures Park at Disneyland. I was glad I had a kleenex handy. He wasn't so sure at first that he like that his tooth was out but his concerned look quickly turned to smiles. This will be a fun story to tell him when he is older (if he ever forgets).

California Adventures

We had our adventures at California Adventures but overall we had a really fun time. Trying to figure out the start of the day was kinda stressful and then while Trisha and Brian tried to go ride on a couple of grown up rides Brooklynn had a breakdown and Ashlynn had a messy diaper that got everywhere (that is why she is only wearing a bib for a shirt, for some reason I had nothing else to put on her with me). But even though all this happened we still had a really fun time. The kids just loved the bugs life area. They wanted to ride the rides over and over again. Brooklynn just loved the water area in the bugs life area. Austin on the other hand stayed away. Austin really loved the parade, Brooklynn slept through it thankfully, Ashlynn liked to watch everything that was going on and Trisha liked the parade until every guy that went by that was a part of the parade decided that she needed to be wet. It was really quite funny for everyone else to watch. :) The kids got their mickey mouse and minnie mouses and their Disneyland p.j.'s this day. They looked so cute in them. The candy corn farm was really cool to see too.

Mickey's Trick or Treat Party

We got special tickets to go to Mickey's Trick or Treat Party. It was a lot of fun. The kids got to dress up and get candy and meet a lot of the characters. We didn't do any rides this night but we had fun watching the parade and the kids even participated in it. I think this event was well worth the extra money spent. :)

USS Midway

The USS Midway was a very informative experience, I am glad we went. We really learned a lot about how a navy ship is ran. It was really cool to see all the little places of the ship. The kids thought it was fun to climb and run all over the place and be somewhat free.

Sea World

Sea world was a lot of fun. The kids got to see things they had never seen before. We saw three shows while we were there and Ashlynn did amazingly well and even seemed to enjoy them. Austin was set on seeing the baby beluga whale because they sing the song in school but once we saw the real thing he was not as thrilled as I thought he would be. Brooklynn really liked the dolphins and at the end of the day that was what she chose for her souvenir instead of a killer whale. She still think hers is better than her brother's and sister's whales. I wish we lived closer so we could visit this park more often. The overall day went well. Lunch was way too expensive and next time we will for sure do two days here instead of one so that we can see more of the park.

Lego Land

As you can see we had a lot of fun at Lego Land. The kids loved the rides and the shows and all the fun things to see and do. We learned two things about Brooklynn today she is our little thrill seeker but we also found out that she can't drive to save herself. :) She loved the fast rides and just kept wanting to go and go but when we put her in the car to drive around the small track all she could do was run in to the curb. So we will be sure to warn everyone when she starts driving. :) Austin just loved all the lego's everywhere. I think one of his favorite parts was when he got to build and race his own car on the track they had. There wasn't much for Ashlynn to do here so she just hung out with the adults and crawled all over the ground most of the day.

Peggy Sue's Dinner

Brian went to bed at 8:30 pm on Saturday the 18th and the rest of us stayed up as late as we could. Brooklynn only made it to 11, Ashlynn made it to 1:30 am and Austin didn't go to sleep until we got on to the freeway at 3:30 am. Brian then put in his headphones and began to drive while the rest of us slept. I had to wake up to put gas in the car in Cedar City but I then went back to sleep. We all woke up just in time to fret that we weren't going to find gas before it ran out but in our search to find the gas station we found this little dinner called Peggy Sue's Dinner in Yermo, CA. We ordered a pizza for lunch. We also walked around and saw the metal dinosaurs (free to look at) and on our way out of there we stopped at the ice cream parlor and had ice cream. The kids thought this was really fun and it was a nice break from the car. We then finished the rest of the 2 1/2 hour drive that was left to the hotel and just hung out around the hotel that night in Carlsbad.

CEMENT!

Today was a big day in the Horne house. We now have more cement then we have grass! Yay! :) It is really nice to have this done so that Brian can get around the whole house and so we can have less mess in the house from the dirt! And the kids belief is that we now have a perfect race track around our house for bike riding!

Ashlynn's First Snow

It was fun to see Ashlynn's reaction to snow. She smiled at it as long as she didn't touch it. Even though it was not very much snow the kids had a lot of fun playing in the little bit we got. I can't wait to see what Ashlynn does when there is really deep snow here in a few weeks. :)

Life at the Horne House for the last few weeks

Sorry so many blog entry's at once but I figured I better get caught up before we leave on vacation or we might never get ahead. :)

Day one of leveling our yard for cement(Saturday, September 27th): A lot got done this day: dirt was moved, paths were dug, my deck was moved and then moved back, a 8 inch slab of cement was taken out (which moved the deck in the process), a main sprinkler line was broken and fixed, and all in all the day was a great step towards our cement. :) Thank you to everyone that gave up there time and their husbands on a Saturday to help us out. We really appreciate it.

Day two of leveling our yard for cement (Tuesday, September 30th): There was a large group of men and boys that came to help this day and by the end of day two I think we are getting close to almost level and close to being done (or so I thought, I guess there is still some more before we are really done, but hopefully soon we will be done)! Thank you so much for everyone's help. I hope we don't have to ask for to much more help to get this done. I am amazed at how complicated this has become. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for all the help and your time!

My little Lego Builder:
Austin just loves Lego's and now that he is learning to read he just loves to build words and figure out what they say. To bad just a bunch of letters all together doesn't always make a word. This has been a hard concept to teach him but we are coming to a more common understanding every day. :)

Family Pictures:
Isn't it amazing how hard it is to get 5 people to smile and look all at the same time. :) Brittany thank you so much for taking these pictures for us. We haven't had a family picture since Brooklynn was Ashlynn's age.

Sorry for my bad day :`(

I am sorry for my last blog entry. It has caused a lot of confusion and anger and that was not what I was trying to cause to happen at all. I have come to understand that this is my problem and I guess I should just keep it to myself. Sorry to anyone I offended. I was just venting and having a bad day, that has now turned into two bad days. Please disregard the previous blog entry.
