Pinewood Derby / State Museum Day / Neighborhood Fiesta / Life

The elder’s quorum had a pinewood derby for the big boys of the ward. :) Brian was working on his car the night before like usual. Oh well maybe life will slow down some day, probably not though. Austin had a lot of fun helping his dad paint the skate board derby car and get it all ready. Brian didn’t win the derby but through Austin’s eyes he won every race. It was a fun outing for everyone involved.

Saturday September 13th was State Museum Day so we head over to Hogan’s park to see Hogan’s Cabin. It was a lot of fun to hear and see all about the little cabin we pass by so often. The kids love to hear all the stories about the different objects in the cabin and the brownies at the end were just an added bonus. Thanks Ann for telling us about this great event!

We had a neighborhood Fiesta last Wednesday. It was a lot of fun. Carrie did such a good job organizing it they even had a piñata for the kids. It was great to see so many neighbors all at one time!

And as many of you have probably noticed it has been a few weeks since I posted last and that is because. We are planning a trip to Disneyland (October 19th-26th), we have to get our cement poured relatively soon, my brother moved back, and my sister is probably moving in sometime soon with us so this also means that we are trying to finish some more of our basement for her to live in (thanks Nick for all your help). So that is why we are a little crazy around here. Hopefully life will come back to normal some day. :)

Ok, I LOVED the comment "through Austin’s eyes he (brian) won every race". Aww! how cute! Sounds like a fun time! I've always wanted to make a pinewood derby car!
I CAN'T wait to hear about what you have planned for Disneyland!

When is your SEP? How is school for austin? marla

That's cool that Austin got to help with the car. Chris wouldn't let the boys touch it, and still doesn't. He's very proud of his cars.:) Yeah, life is pretty crazy for you guys. I guess it's good that you are staying busy though, right?

Wow, lots of fun. You guys are always so good at getting out and doing things.

Sounds like things are crazy around there right now, good luck with all of it! My sister just took her kids (ages 5 and 3) to Disneyland and they had a blast! Can't wait to hear how it goes for you (I'll be deciding if I should start saving based on your experience, so LOTS of details when you get back, please!)

So cute! The pics from the fiesta look great, we all need copies of our kids beating the pinata. The thoughts of candy can make the sweetest kid turn into a killing machine!
Good job painting the car Austin! from, Sam

You took some dang cute pictures of the Fiesta. Thanks! And just like Chris Hall, Brett wouldn't let the kids do anything with the Kung Fu Panda Express. Brian is nice to let Austin help him paint. Our kids would have it on the carpet in five seconds!

We loved the comment, 'through Austin's eyes' Brian won every race.
You are so good with words.
We loved the pictures.
We're sure the race was a blast, even Ashlynn looks like she had fun.

We don't get to look at your blog very often, but when we do we just love it.

Love you,
Dad & Mom
