I am so sick of being sick ...
And now this...

This is Friday when we went up to Primary Children Hospital and spent 6 hours because Ashlynn wouldn't eat or drink and after a week of this she was not doing well at all. They put an IV in her and we sat in the Emergency room while it ran in. They then sent us home saying she would probably be ok and would want to eat and drink. But they were wrong and this is what happenend on Sunday night...

Ashlynn just wasn't getting any better and so we ended up back at the Hospital and this time we spent the night. To say the least it was a long night. We are now home but we are not over all this just yet. :( We have to get Ashlynn re-hydrated which is not as easy as it should be because she is so little and very stubborn. In addition to that the rest of us have to get over all of our other sicknesses too and then hopefully we can all be well and out and about soon. So for those of you that have wondered what was going on here at the Horne home this is what we have been up to. Not Much Fun at all. :(

She is Free :)
A little too much water at bath time and a trip to kids care and Ashlynn's arm is now free. The doctor had said that Ashlynn would probably not use her arm for a few days and have to work to get her elbow back to working order, man he was wrong. After they cut the cast off Ashlynn just kept looking at her thumb and moving it back and forth. Otherwise her arm hasn't stopped moving since they took the cast off. She acts as if nothing happened. We couldn't be happier. We go in on Thursday to have the final x-ray done and have the final check off.

Ashlynn's Hard Cast
So after going to the orthopedic doctor today we had some information given to us about exactly what was going on with Ashlynn’s arm. Ashlynn has two green sick fractures in her left arm. Both Fractures are in different places on the two different bones. She will have this cast for two weeks and then we will go in and have another x-ray to see how things are healing and if things look good they will cut the cast off to just below her elbow. She will then wear that cast for two weeks and the doctor hopes we can have it off at the end of those two weeks. Ashlynn screamed and hollered when they put the cast on but she doesn’t seem to mind it too much now. Bath time is going to be interesting but at least it is only for 4 weeks.

My Poor Ashlynn :(
This last Saturday Ashlynn was pushed off a bed by one of her kind siblings and cried for a bit but there was no swelling and no bruising and we didn’t think much about it until that night when I tried to put on her coat and she threw a fit. So on Sunday when she fell off the couch and once again cried and would not use her left arm it concerned us a little more. So we watched her very carefully and there was no swelling and no bruising so we thought I just must me a pulled muscle. Her forearm was a little hard but it wasn’t really swollen and there was no bruising. But over the last few days if she trips and falls on her hand she cries and she has been really cranky (I thought it was because of her cold). So today she fell on the floor in the bathroom and didn’t stop crying for several minutes. So I decided I better take her to kids care and see what was up. Well guess what? Both of the bones in her left forearm are broken about an inch below her elbow. So now we know that is why she has been so cranky and upset. The picture above is her soft cast, tomorrow we get to go in and get a hard cast put on. I feel so bad for not taking her in sooner. I guess she would have just had to wear the soft cast for longer, that she really hates.
